Hull Rupture

What is Hull Rupture?

Hull Rupture is a sci-fi base-management and tower-defense roguelite developed by Konfa Games and published by tinyBuild. Players manage a spaceship controlled by Despot AI, using resources, production modules, and human workers to keep the vessel operational while surviving alien attacks. Every run involves strategic decisions about construction, defense, and survival.

The game combines modular ship construction, interconnected production chains, tactical turret placement, and galaxy exploration. Players can expand their hull, shape enemy paths, improve defenses, and discover artifacts that change their strategies. The free demo features 20 attack waves and a final boss, while the full game is planned to offer multiple ships, modes, and difficulty settings.

Hull Rupture Hull Construction Guide

Master the Hull Construction system introduced in the updated demo and learn how different ship shapes influence alien movement. Discover the 15 available construction block types, module placement restrictions, and corridor layouts that can improve your defensive positions.

1

Enter Hull Construction mode during a run to pause flight and receive a randomly selected construction block.

2

Choose from 15 construction block types presented in a randomized sequence, with no repeats until the full set has been cycled through.

3

Place blocks without obstructing the Airlock or engine, and check whether the resulting layout provides suitable module slots.

4

Use external sections, gaps, and internal corridors to influence alien travel routes and create advantageous turret firing positions.

5

Plan expansion costs carefully: constructing hull blocks initially consumes Energy, while later construction requires Plasteel.

Hull Rupture Resource Production Guide

Understand how Hull Rupture's interconnected production chains generate the materials needed for ship expansion and stronger defenses. Learn the roles of Energy, Fuel, Minerals, Microchips, Nanobots, and human workers while exploring module adjacency and automation mechanics.

Energy

A core resource needed to operate ship systems and construct hull blocks during the earlier stages of a run.

Fuel

Supports spaceship propulsion and galaxy exploration. Additional engines and heavier ship configurations increase the importance of Fuel production.

Minerals

A production resource used within the ship's economy. The Mineral Generator can receive modifiers that change its output.

Microchips

An advanced production resource whose availability was improved during the September 2026 demo rebalance.

Nanobots

An advanced resource connected to later production chains. The updated demo made reaching Nanobot production more manageable.

Despot's Chamber

Improves neighboring module efficiency and can produce random module kits based on the number of humans assigned to it.

Automation

The Bioreactor-related converter automation can automatically assign humans through its experimental Auto function.

Hull Rupture Turret Defense Guide

Explore Hull Rupture's turret mechanics, weapon effects, and defensive positioning strategies against alien invasions. Learn how different firing ranges, hull layouts, status effects, and the September demo changes influence ship defense.

Rat Turret

Added in demo patch v0.10.12. Its special effect transforms an enemy hit by the turret into a rat.

Beam Turrets

Can apply the Fragility debuff when the Reproducer receives the Eyes modifier, according to the September demo update.

Long-Range Weapons

Work well with open firing positions and long, straight sections of the ship where their extended firing range can be used.

Short-Range Weapons

Can benefit from enclosed corridors and compact defensive layouts that force enemies through close-range firing positions.

Turret Relocation

Turrets can be moved without a direct resource cost, but relocation takes time and creates a temporary period of inactivity.

Airlock Defense

Units stationed in the Airlock serve as a final defensive layer against enemies that survive the ship's turret network.

Hull Rupture Wave 20 Boss Guide

Prepare for the final boss encounter in Hull Rupture's 20-wave demo campaign by understanding enemy approach routes and defensive preparation. This guide focuses on documented boss positioning, turret investment, resource production, and the relationship between hull construction and survival.

1

Progress through the standard demo's 20 attack waves while maintaining production and expanding the ship's defenses.

2

Build a production economy capable of supplying the materials required for stronger turrets and advanced defensive equipment.

3

Account for the documented boss landing position on the far upper-left portion of the hull, away from the Airlock.

4

Use ship construction and longer enemy routes to create more opportunities for defensive turrets to attack approaching threats.

5

Defeat the final boss after surviving the 20 attack waves to complete the demo's standard challenge.

Hull Rupture Post-Battle Shop Guide

Discover how the redesigned Post-Battle Shop works after the September 2026 demo update. Learn the differences between turret and module loot boxes, how module modifiers appear, and how Despot's Chamber provides additional kits for your ship.

Turret Boxes

The updated shop offers themed loot boxes containing turret kits, providing a way to obtain additional defensive equipment.

Module Boxes

Module-themed loot boxes provide a selection of module kits for expanding production and improving ship systems.

Installed Modifiers

Modules obtained from the updated shop can arrive with modifiers already installed.

Free Module Kits

Despot's Chamber produces random module kits over time, with production affected by the number of assigned humans.

Selling Kits

Unwanted module kits produced by Despot's Chamber can be sold in the Post-Battle Shop to help fund other purchases.

Improved Randomization

Demo patch v0.10.12 adjusted kit selection to make previously unseen module kits more likely and recently obtained kits less likely to repeat.

Hull Rupture Galaxy Map and Routes Guide

Learn how galaxy exploration affects resources, ship development, and the strategic choices available during each run. Explore documented destinations, markets, special encounters, and the trade-offs between ship weight, engine power, and travel opportunities.

Galaxy Map

Provides different destinations between battles, allowing players to pursue resources, events, artifacts, and strategic opportunities.

Markets

Allow resource trading, including the developer's documented example of exchanging excess Fuel for needed Minerals.

Arachnids

An example of a galaxy destination associated with the possibility of obtaining a special artifact and collecting additional turrets.

Great Old One

A documented example of an encounter associated with a cursed modifier that can influence a run.

Adamantium

A resource mentioned by the developer as something players may seek when planning to construct more powerful turrets.

Travel Speed

Depends on the number and level of engines and the ship's total mass. Expanding with more modules makes the ship heavier and can reduce travel speed.

Hull Rupture Artifacts and Modifiers Guide

Explore how artifacts and module modifiers change resource production, turret effects, and strategic decisions in Hull Rupture. Learn about officially documented modifier interactions, special event rewards, and the differences between shop upgrades and exploration discoveries.

Eyes Modifier

When installed on the Reproducer, this modifier allows Beam turrets to apply the Fragility debuff to enemies.

Mineral Generator Mushrooms

A documented modifier adds mushrooms that significantly increase Mineral output while the player holds fewer than 10 units of Mystic Goo.

Shop Modifiers

Modifiers can be obtained through Shops and installed in individual ship modules to change their behavior or capabilities.

Event Modifiers

Narrative encounters provide another source of modifiers, with many event-exclusive upgrades unavailable through ordinary shop purchases.

Adjacency Effects

Certain artifacts and modifiers interact with neighboring modules, creating opportunities to improve production through careful placement.

Defensive Artifacts

The September demo update introduced and reworked artifact effects that interact with turrets, while reducing the effectiveness of some unit-focused strategies.
