Start With a Staffed Energy Generator
To get Energy in Hull Rupture, put humans to work in an energy-producing generator and keep that production supported as the ship grows. An available generator does not replace the need for workers. Expanding faster than your energy supply can support creates shortages just when you need resources for construction and defense.
The Wand Report’s hands-on preview describes the basic generator producing Energy when humans are assigned to it. Its April build is useful for that underlying staffing relationship, but its exact production interval should not be treated as a fixed value for the later demo.
Increase Supply Before Adding More Demand
Check the generator’s staffing first when energy production is struggling. Humans are a shared resource: the same workforce supports production, repairs, engines, and other tasks. Assigning everyone elsewhere can leave an important part of the economy without the workers it needs.
As consumption increases, consider the production modules, upgrades, and modifiers actually available in your run. Do not assume a particular advanced generator will arrive on schedule. Older community discussions describe Larval, Jellyfish, and dark-matter energy approaches, but those are player experiences from earlier demo versions, with outcomes dependent on artifacts and other bonuses.
The official base-management devlog warns against building too many modules before there is enough energy to operate them effectively. A useful order of decisions is:
- Check whether current energy production is staffed.
- Identify the next construction or production need.
- Compare that need with the resources the ship can currently supply.
- Expand or improve production before committing to a larger unsupported economy.
This is a planning sequence, not a fixed list of module purchases for every run.
Read Current Production With Info Mode
The September demo update introduced Info Mode, which displays resource income per minute. It also explains an important limitation: the number reflects current production, not a forecast.
A production chain can change when its inputs change or it reaches a production cap. Recheck the display after assigning workers, building modules, or changing resource use rather than assuming one healthy reading guarantees the rest of the run.
Energy is also used for early Hull Construction, before later expansion requires Plasteel. The same update says skipping an offered hull block costs resources too. Treat construction and repeated skips as economic choices, not free ways to wait for the perfect ship shape.
FAQ
Why is my generator not enough by itself?
The documented basic generator requires assigned humans. The rest of your economy can also outgrow the output it currently provides.
Is the per-minute income display a prediction?
No. The developers describe it as current production. Changing inputs or reaching a cap can change what the ship produces next.
Should I build every production module as soon as I get its kit?
Not automatically. The official management guidance warns that overbuilding can leave the ship unable to support its modules with enough energy.
Is there one guaranteed advanced energy build?
The collected community reports describe successful combinations, not a guaranteed sequence of generator kits and artifacts. Build around the resources and bonuses available in your actual run.
